Ophthalmic Academy

Terms of use

The rules for using the platform, for learners and for the organizations that subscribe.

Effective September 27, 2026.

The agreement

These terms apply to everyone who uses Ophthalmic Academy. If your organization has a signed subscription agreement with Ophthalmic Academy, that agreement governs where it differs from these terms.

Accounts

  • Your organization decides who has an account and what each person can see.
  • Keep your password to yourself. One account is for one person.
  • Administrators and supervisors are responsible for how they use the access their role gives them.

What the platform is, and is not

  • It is training. It is not medical advice and does not replace your practice's policies, your supervisors or your physicians.
  • It is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a product of JCAHPO or IJCAHPO. IJCAHPO sets eligibility and administers its examinations, and using the platform does not guarantee a passing result.
  • Patient Access and Foundations readiness checks are your organization's internal standards, not credentials.

Content your organization writes

Organizations can write their own content and change platform content for their own staff. An organization is responsible for the accuracy of content it authors or modifies, including any policy it publishes, and we are not responsible for the validity of content we did not write.

The AI study assistant

Answers from the study assistant are generated by AI and can be wrong. Check them against the lessons and your supervisors before relying on them, and never enter patient information.

Rewards

If your organization turns on the rewards program, the gift cards it offers are funded and fulfilled as set out in your organization's agreement, in the amounts your organization chooses. We keep track of the promise and who has earned what; we do not guarantee the gift cards ourselves.

Exclusion screening

Exclusion screening, where your organization uses it, is a tool that checks names against the federal exclusion lists. It helps your organization meet its own screening duties and is not a guarantee that no excluded person is employed.

Acceptable use

  • Do not share accounts, or copy, scrape, publish or resell questions, lessons or simulators.
  • Do not enter patient health information anywhere in the platform.
  • Do not try to get around security, access another organization's data, or disrupt the service.

Ownership

The platform, its lessons, questions, diagrams and simulators belong to Ophthalmic Academy. Your organization's subscription gives its staff the right to use them for training while the subscription lasts. Content your organization writes stays yours.

Changes, suspension and ending

We improve the platform continually and may change features. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. What happens to an organization's data when its subscription ends is set out in the Privacy policy and in the organization's agreement.

Disclaimers and liability

The platform is provided as it is, for training. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what your organization paid us in the twelve months before it.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Washington. Questions: info@ophthalmicacademy.us.
